Eddy re garding the connection of his name with tiie position of state senator from this district, before the coming primaries, Mr. Eddy frankly stated that while he considered it rather early to begin a political agitation, he would state as frankly he would make the race, especially as the preser.t member, Miss Clark, had said she would not aspire again. Mr. Eddy is one of the niGst prom inent attorneys not only of the Doug las county bar, but of the state, and has already had legislative experience which has been of benefit to the dis trict and slate, as Vame of the impor tant matter of legislation now on the statutes originated with him. He is a staunch republican whose name on the ticket will add strength to every part of it. Men of the caliber and forcefulness of Mr. Eddy arc needed this year in the party councils and on the ticket, for it is to be one of the most important elections held for a number of years.—Umpqua Valley News. Mr. Eddy was a former resident of I illamook and was one of our leading progressive citizens, where he had many staunch friends. He represented this county in the lower house. Mr. Eddy will make a valuable addition to the State Senate, and we wish him success. Wedding at Mohler.
